The Regulation 1907/2006/ EC known as REACH REGULATION (Registration,
Evaluation, Authorisation of Chemicals) requires that chemical substances as
such, in preparation or in articles, shall not be marketed in the European
Union, unless properly registered (REACH REGISTRATION) through a
process of Evaluation and, if necessary, Authorization.
The aim of R.E.A.C.H is to ensure a high level of protection of human health
and environment by encouraging, in case of substances of very high concern,
their replacement with less dangerous substances or technologies.
According to the Reach Regulation, all substances within the provisions of
REACH, needed to be pre-registered by 1st December 2008 and only
these ones can be produced in or imported into the EU.
Eigenmann & Veronelli’s position on REACH
In order to ensure the compliance with its requirements, E&V launched in early
2008 a task force (the REACH TEAM) with the aim of coordinating all initiatives
needed (e.g. all pre-registration activities and the communication along the
